Just two weeks ago, on August 25, 2026, Work’n’Roll’s flagship event, Budtender XP, made its Buffalo debut at The Show on 2188 Seneca Street in South Buffalo (also known as Shea’s Seneca). This event, proudly sponsored by Rythm, is designed to bring together budtenders from across the region for a dedicated product showcase featuring licensed cannabis brands from throughout New York State.
The movement was unmistakable: New York craves solventless. If last month’s Solventless Cup didn’t already make that clear, Budtender XP Buffalo confirmed it, transforming the floor into a showcase of brands unveiling their newest solventless SKUs.
While flower, distillate, and resin-based products were present, the shift toward artisanal, clean, solventless offerings was palpable. Highlights included:
- Lost Farm giving samples of Live Rosin Tropical Lemonade × Strawberry Guava gummies
- Off Hours offering Luci branded hashholes, solventless-infused prerolls with a rosin worm at the center
- Rythm & Jaunty promoting their full line of solventless SKUs, including vapes, gummies, and rosin
- House of Sacci flaunting their latest accolades for their Tropicana Cherry: 3rd Place Live Rosin Cart at the Solventless Cup and 1st Place Flower (grams) at Best in Grass NY
- Pax highlighting their new rosin gummies tailored for the NY market
- Gron showcasing their own live rosin gummies
But my personal favorite? Gudtrip’s Hash Burger, was by far the most delicious solventless product offered at the event. They were sampling out dabs right inside the Shea’s Seneca, making it a true highlight. Meanwhile, in the outside consumption area, MFNY hired my friends Jake and Kara to host a dab bar and had them using the Dr. Dabber Switch2. However, an upgrade to the new Switch Go or, better yet, proper torch-and-quartz slurper setup with a Dabrite thermometer would’ve taken it over the top!
The event wasn’t just about cannabis, it was an experience. Live jazz performers set the mood, perfectly complementing the ambiance of the historic Shea’s Seneca building. Originally opened in 1929 as a grand movie palace, the venue’s ornate architecture and storied past brought a sense of timelessness and community to the evening. Now, the building operates as a vibrant multi-use space: home to events and unique gatherings that celebrate Buffalo’s culture and history.
Adding to the atmosphere, Osteria 166, the restaurant owned by the partners behind Starbuds’ Buffalo dispensary, catered the event. Attendees loved the hearty Italian sandwiches on offer, including a classic chicken parm and a delicious eggplant parmesan, both served with fresh baked potato chips. As an Italian American with a strong palate for good Italian food, I can confirm—these were solid choices.
Every detail, from the music to the food, contributed to an memorable Work’n’Roll debut for Budtender XP Buffalo.
The energy was undeniable. Top industry influencers from across New York State, including Spaghetti Eddie, came out to celebrate the first-ever Budtender XP Buffalo. The night elevated the region’s cannabis industry in a beautiful South Buffalo venue. It’s clear, rosin is rising, and solventless movement is taking over New York.
