Coffeeshop Funny People can be found in an industrial area of Amsterdam North. Originally, Funny People was located in the heart of Amsterdam near Centraal Station, however this location was forced to close its doors in 2013 due to Amsterdam’s “afstandscriterium” policy forbidding coffeeshops to operate within 250 meters of schools. This original location now operates as a bar. Funny People’s new storefront is a spacious 3 room shop which pays homage to classic comedians, the Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy, and Charlie Chaplain to name just a few. The shop’s menu is traditional, offering a small variety of classic, old school Dutch strains as well as pressed import hashes.
