Located in Waterlooplein near several of Amsterdam’s museums, Coffeeshop Green House Namaste itself appears at first glance to be a museum. An ornate yet comfortable establishment, Green House Namaste is a welcoming escape from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam Centrum. Couches with plush and leather cushions line the lounge where a collection of sculptures are on display, exhibited tastefully in recesses in the shop’s walls. Keeping in theme, many of these sculptures depict hundu deities. Namaste is a Sanskript phrase meaning “I bow to you”. This greeting, a gesture of respect often shown to one’s elders, is interpreted by some to mean “The divine in me bows to the divine in you”.

One in the chain of Green House shops, Namaste maintains an award-winning cannabis menu featuring Green House genetics in addition to imported flowers and hashes. These prized genetics have made the Green House locations a must-visit for many cannabis connoisseurs. Many celebrities have found their way to Green House as well. Owner Arjan takes great pride in hosting over 100 A-list celebrities, photos of whom can be seen on display inside of the other Green House locations. Edibles as well as basic snacks and a selection of hot and cold beverages, including smoothies are available at the Green House shops.
