Position Overview
The Packaging Technician is a cross-trained, equipment-capable operator responsible for safe, efficient, and compliant packaging operations on second shift. This role supports production goals by operating semi-automated packaging equipment, maintaining sanitation standards, ensuring inventory accuracy, and following our clientโs GMP, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate gummy and beverage packaging lines, including manual and semi-automated equipment
Perform pack-out activities according to SOPs, batch records, and daily production plans
Complete equipment changeovers, breakdowns, and basic troubleshooting within training scope
Apply, verify, and inspect labels, lot codes, and date codes for accuracy
Conduct in-process quality checks and report issues immediately
Accurately track production output, waste, and inventory movement
Perform sanitation and line clearance following GMP and food safety standards
Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work areas
Support other departments as needed to meet production goals
Follow all safety, PPE, and biosecurity protocols

Throughput & Productivity
Meet or exceed line-specific units-per-hour targets set by the Packaging Supervisor
Quality & Accuracy
Packaging and labeling error rate of 1% or less per shift
Production, batch, and sanitation documentation completed with 99%+ accuracy
Attendance & Reliability
Maintain 97% or higher on-time attendance per quarter
Consistently arrive ready to work for scheduled second-shift start times
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
At least 1 year of manufacturing or packaging experience in a regulated environment (GMP, FDA, or food production)
Food, beverage, or cannabis packaging experience preferred
Experience with packaging equipment such as weigh/fill systems, labelers, or conveyors, preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Reliable transportation and availability for second shift
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Exposure to loud noise, temperature changes, humidity, and cleaning chemicals
Frequent standing, lifting, bending, twisting, and visual inspection tasks
PPE is provided and required at all times.
